Please in Russian is пожалуйста (pozhaluysta). The same word also answers спасибо as you're welcome, and accompanies handing something over, like here you go. One word, three jobs, told apart by context.

How to use it
In speech пожалуйста compresses to something like pozhalusta or even pzhalsta; the full five syllables live mostly in careful speech and textbooks.
Russian politeness leans on grammar as much as vocabulary: requests soften by going negative and conditional. Вы не могли бы... (could you not perhaps...) is the native way to ask a stranger for a favour; adding пожалуйста on top is optional polish.
