Yes in Russian
Yes in Russian is да (da). Casual speech prefers ага (uh-huh), enthusiastic agreement is конечно (of course), and давай is the yes of plans: let's do it.

давай (davay), agreeing to a plan: also the informal way to close a phone call
How to use it
Да also lives a second life as a particle meaning roughly well or and: да ладно (oh come on), да нет (well, no). Да нет is famous for confusing learners: it is a softened no, not a contradiction.
Tone matters more than the word: a flat да can read as impatient. Russians soften agreement with конечно or stretch it: да-да.
Watch out
Да нет means no. The да is a softener (well...), not a yes. If you need certainty, listen for the second word: да нет, наверное = probably not.
